Black pepper, burgers, English mustard, Lamb, Onions, Red pepper
I am sure all of you have seen many recipes for burgers. This is my version, as most burgers don’t use the garlic and ginger, I use it so that means that you get the taste but not so much the smell of the lamb, that so many people, I know, complain about. I have used lamb, but feel free to use beef!
Ingredients
500g ground Lamb
2 tbsp Red pepper finely chopped
1 tbsp English mustard
1 tbsp Garlic minced
1 tbsp Ginger minced
1/4 cup minced fresh coriander
1/4 cup bread crumbs
1 small onion, finely grated
4 tsp minced fresh basil
1 egg
Salt and pepper to taste

Lamb burgers with onions and red peppers
Directions
Take a big bowl and whisk together egg, red pepper, mustard, garlic and ginger mince. Stir in coriander, bread crumbs, onion, basil, pepper and salt, and mix in the ground lamb. Shape into round patties.
Heat oil and fry burgers until they are cooked thoroughly.
Serve in a bun with caramelized onions and red peppers.
(Best way to make the caramelized onions is to cut the onions in rings and thinly slice the red peppers and saute them in oil on medium heat, for about 1 hour. If they start to burn, turn down the heat, especially the peppers they can burn, take them out and keep on sauteing the onions. You can add some sugar, or some salt according to your taste)
